Wellness

As midwives, we see pregnancy as a healthy state for women. We serve low-risk women, and our focus is on helping mothers to stay healthy and low-risk. As part of a healthy lifestyle, we recommend our clients consider incorporating other modalities that complement the care we provide. NOVA Natural Birth Center offers an assortment of activities, classes, and providers for our clients to consider.

  • Chiropractic care can help establish balance and optimal alignment in your pelvic region and back. Misalignment in your pelvis can cause discomfort during pregnancy and can prevent the baby from getting into a good position for delivery and reduce the amount of space available for the baby to descend. By seeing a chiropractor regularly, you can reduce the strain on your body and even reduce the amount of time you are in labor.
  • Fitness can help you feel good and stay healthy during any time of your life. While pregnant however, it can improve your posture and decrease body aches and pain while increasing your stamina for labor.
  • Massage Therapy can help alleviate body aches and pain, improve circulation, and relax the nervous system. Increasing your body’s circulation brings nutrients to the cells of you and your baby and increases your overall well being. Regular massage therapy sessions release endorphins into your body and will help decrease your anxiety and stress caused by hormonal changes.

Just this week, we accepted into care an amazing first time mom who was very unhappy with her current midwife office. She is 39.5 weeks. Another mom was fed up with how her current OB/GYN was managing her care. She is 35.1 weeks. It is never too late to make a change that may change the way you birth! #KNOWYOUROPTIONS #Midwifery #NOVABirthCenter #InformedChoice #NaturalBirth ... See MoreSee Less

I think I was over 30 weeks when I made the switch from my obgyn 5 years ago - definitely the best decision I made regarding my births.

Love it!

Ha! I told a post-40wks mama to call you a few months back, when her provider was suddenly wanting to change the game plan. I don't know if she ever called, but I switched from an ob/gyn once and was glad I did!

My sister changed providers at 36 weeks and was so thankful she followed her intuition to do so. She ended up having two babies with the new provider who also was their PCP for years!

True, but always preferable to start care as early as possible to get acquainted and build a solid relationship!
