Are you tired of waiting in a crowded room, then sitting alone all by yourself in your skivvies? None of that at NOVA Natural Birth Center! We know what you want; we know what you need! Imagine a few quiet minutes to catch your breath while you watch nature videos in our gorgeous “living room” lobby. Sip a cool drink, then accept a warm welcome hug!
In the midst of the beautiful and friendly atmosphere, your prenatal visit will include all the clinical things you find at a typical prenatal visit. The differences will be obvious, though, when you sit to chat with your midwife for nearly an hour! Lab tests and ultrasounds are done, as needed. Some are required, but you have options for the others. Prenatal visits in an uncomplicated pregnancy will be: every month, two weeks or weekly depending on what trimester you are in. Clients planning a home birth will have their 36 week visit at home, but all other prenatal visits are at NOVA Natural Birth Center.
Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll want to know what is coming next. We will invite you to a couple of optional, but fun, group sessions to inform and prepare you for what to expect at 28 and 36 weeks. It is also a great time to meet others who also plan to have a natural birth, in a similar time frame!
There is a home visit by your midwives 2 to 3 days after the birth for clients who live in Virginia. Special arrangements can be made if you need flexible appointment times to allow for work or childcare.
