We value the golden hour for mother and baby after birth. Your midwife will fully assess your baby while safely tucked skin to skin. As you choose, your loved ones may enjoy this time with you taking photos.
Unsure about breastfeeding? We can help. Our experienced midwiives will be at your side to offer tips and encouragement. With so many amazing happenings during that golden first hour, our midwives will help you make this special time a happy memory.
Your midwife is usually finished with your care 2-3 hours after a homebirth. Most families choose to depart from the birth center 3-6 hours after the baby is born. There is no rush. We are here for you.
As great as it is to have a new baby, each new day can be difficult. Thankfully, when you need help, we are available. We also have postpartum specialists to ease the transition of bringing home baby. Contact us to find out how our experienced team of support can help ensure a great newborn period for you and your baby.
Our midwives, postpartum specialists, and lactation counselors are ready to see you at home. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need support right away.
Your midwife isn’t a Pediatrician but she IS trained to be your healthy baby’s provider until 6 weeks old. She won’t do vaccines or circumcisions, but she will do complete physical exams, weight checks, Newborn and Hearing screens and offers options for Vitamin K, testing for jaundice and major heart conditions.
NOVA Natural Birth Center midwives will make sure you are on the road back to “not-pregnant” and will help minimize any problems and concerns with breastfeeding and postpartum depression. The first few weeks after having your baby can be challenging, but our team of support will be there to listen and share some helpful resources. You won’t be alone!
